Mrs. Monroe died Sunday at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe after a lengthy illness.
Survivors include two sons, Bishop Monroe of Ruston and Hardy Monroe of Grayson; three daughters, Mrs. Irvin Joyner and Mrs. Margaret McGehee, both of Grayson and Mrs. Mable Hagens of Hawthorne, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Johnnie Monroe, a prominent citizen of Grayson for years, was a son and preceded her in death.
