Funeral services for Jacob Lott Humphries, 72, who died at the home of his son, Jake Humphries in West Monroe, on Tuesday were held on Wednesday at 4 P.M. at the Welcome Home cemetery in Grayson, following a short service at the home of his son in West Monroe at 2:30 o'clock.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lelia Humphries; three sons, Jake Humphries; B. J. Humphries of Oak Grove; and LeRoy Humphries of Detroit, Mich.; seven daughters, Mrs. Edith Parnell of Choudrant; Mrs. Maud Mayes of Baton Rouge; Ruth of Baton Rouge; Mrs. Lottie Hartlin of Port Arthur, Texas; Mrs. Ruby Hibbard of West Monroe; and Mrs. Viva Pruett of Dallas, Tex.

Mr. Humphries resided in this parish most of his lifetime, his home being originally in ward 10 and later moved to Grayson, where he resided up to a few years ago. He was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church.

Burial was in the Welcome Home cemetery with Rev. Ira Yeager of Monroe, Rev. Isaac Patton, Rev. E. L. Tanner and Rev. E. M. Mouser, pastor of the Grayson Methodist Church, in charge.

The Riser Funeral Home of Columbia directed the funeral.
