Grace P. Diorio, 88, of Bangor, passed away Friday, October 30, 2009 in Slate Belt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Washington Township. Born July 3, 1921 in Roseto, she was a daughter of the late Luigi and Filomena (Confalone) Pagano. Her beloved husband, Joseph, passed away on October 13, 2007. Grace was a homemaker and was a volunteer for the Red Cross during World War II. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Roseto, where she sang in the choir for many years. She was a member and past president of the Ladies Sodality of the church. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Martocci-Capobianco American Legion Post, Roseto. She was past president of the P.T.A. of Our Lady of Mount Carmel School. She was valedictorian of Bangor High School, class of 1939. Survivors: She is survived by three sons, Donato and his wife, Mary Paula Diorio, of West Islip, N.Y., Martin and his wife, Libby Diorio, of Stroudsburg and Joseph E. and his wife, Liane Diorio, of Bangor; great-granddaughters, Lily and Lia Gilmore; grandchildren, Danielle Diorio, Paul Diorio, Luke, Diorio, Gregory Diorio, Julie Diorio, Cara Diorio and Daniel Diorio; sisters, Lucy DeFrank and Rose Martino of Roseto, Mamie Basso of Bangor and Menica Reimer in California; two brothers, Anthony of Palmerton and Louis of Allentown; many nieces, nephews; sister-in-law, Gilda Catino of Bangor. Two sisters, Antoinette Menecola and Mary Kellow, and a brother, Andrew Pagano, all died earlier
