Mamie was a 1946 graduate of Bangor High School and prior to retiring, she was employed as a machine operator for several garment mills in the Slate Belt. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Roseto, where she sang in the choir and was a member and past president of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Sodality. She was also a member of UNITE, formerly the ILGWU.
In addition to her husband, Anthony, she is survived by two daughters, Joanne Merolla of Pen Argyl, and Linda M. Basso of Bangor, a grandson Carmen Merolla and his wife Amanda of Pennsburg, three great grandchildren, Liam, Gavin and Colin, a sister, Menica Reimer of California, a brother Louis Pagano of Allentown and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew and Anthony Pagano, five sisters, Lucy DeFrank, Mary Kellow, Grace Diorio, Rose Martino and Antoinette Menecola, and a son in law Charles A. Merolla.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at 11 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 3rd and Garibaldi Avenues, Roseto. There will be viewing hours ONLY Tuesday beginning at 6 PM until 8 PM at the Guerro & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 126 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Pen Argyl. Interment will be in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel New Catholic Cemetery, Roseto.
