Elmer Jakabosky
Elmer Jakabosky, son of Micheal and Mary Jakabosky, was born March 27, 1872, in Wisconsin and departed this life December 20, 1949, at his home in Belleville at the age of 77 years, 9 months and 7 days.
He came to Kansas at the age of five and grew to manhood in Republic county.
On August 3, 1897, he was united in marriage to Emma Makalous. To this union ten children were born, all of whom survive him. He spent his entire life in the Cuba and Belleville communities, following the occupation of farming until two years ago when the family moved to Belleville.
Mr. and Mrs. Jakabosky celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary in 1947. He was a devoted husband and father and a helpful neighbor.
Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Emma; four daughters, Ollie Muir of Albuquerque, N.M., Leona McDonald of Belleville, Jessie Waylan of Topeka, Kan., Mary Brooks of Rose Mead, Cal., six sons, William of Belleville, Laurence of Ogden, U., Raymond of Watsonville, Cal., Maynard of Ontario, Cal., Glenn of Belleville, Myron of the home; four sisters, Kate Hadachek of Sterling, Colo., Emma Kasparek of Portland Ore., Anna Carpenter of Lincoln, neb., and Christina Pophapi of Cherry Valley, Ill.; two brothers, Frank of Narka and Joe of Molalla, Ore.; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, many other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Friday at Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart chapel in Belleville, conducted by the Rev. James Gray. Interment was in Belleville cemetery.
