William Jakabosky
William Dave Jakabosky, son of Elmer and Emma Jakabosky, and first grandson of Anton and Frances Makalous, was born near Cuba, December 30, 1904, and he died September 7 at the Republic County Hospital.
His education was received in the school system of Republic County. he was united in marriage to Jeanette Ganna, November 18, 1947.
He had spent his life on the farm until moving to Belleville, where for the last 18 years he has served as custodian of the Belleville schools. Among the teachers and students he was always called Jake. At the time of his passing he was serving as head custodian of the Belleville schools.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer, December 20, 1949. He leaves his wife, Jeanette and mother, Emma Jakabosky of the home; children, Velma and Cecil Tamerius of Morrowville, Gerald and Donna Gana of Firth, Neb.; eight grandchildren, four sisters, Ollie Muir, Albuquerque, N. Mex., Leona McDonald of Belleville, Jessie Waylan of Topeka, Mary Kathryn Brooks of San Gabriel, Calif., five brothers, Laurence of Ogden, Utah, Raymond of Watsonville, Calif, Maynard of Escondido, Calif., Glenn of Watsonville, Calif., Myron of Belleville, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 11 at the Central Christian church, 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Maurice Graham officiating. Burial was in the Belleville cemetery.
