EMMA JAKABOSKY
Emma Jakabosky, daughter of Anton and Frances Koukol Makalous was born September 9, 1878 near Cuba, Kan., and died February 10, 1971 at the Republic County Long Term Care Unit at the age of 92 years, 5 months and 1 day.
She received her education in the Silverthorne school near Cuba.
August 22, 1897 she was united in marriage to Elmer Jakabosky. Ten children were born. Most of her life was spent on the farm in Salt Creek. In 1947 they moved to Belleville. In 1949 her husband died. Later she lived for eight years with her son, Bill and wife until Bill's death. For the past 2 1/2 years she has lived at the Long Term Care Unit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, William, three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors are: her children, Ollie Muir of Albuquerque, N. Mex., Leona McDonald of Belleville, Lawrence of Ogden, Utah, Jessie Waylan of Topeka, Ramond of Watsonville, Calif., Maynard of Escondido, Calif., Glenn of Watsonville, Calif., Myron of Belleville, Mary Brooks of Newport Beach, Calif.; two brothers, Fred of Belleville and Emil of Cuba; one sister, Mrs. Millie Stransky of Cuba; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 13, 10:00 a.m. at the Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Memorial Chapel by Rev. Maurice Graham. Interment was in Belleville cemetery.
