Joe came to Kansas with his parents
in 1877. On March 1, 1897 he was
united in marriage to Daisy Houdek.
To this union were born ten children.
He lived in Republic County, with the
exception of two years which he spent
in Seibert, Colo. In 1936 he moved to
Oregon with his three youngest children
where he lived until his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents;
his wife, Daisy; a son, Charley; a
daughter, Leona; two brothers, Frank
and Elmer; four sisters, Rose, Mrs.
Katie Hadachek, Mrs. Mary Smith
and Mrs. Anna Carpenter.
He is survived by two sons, Leon and
Earnest of Molalla, Ore.; six daughters,
Mrs. Earl Thomas, Mrs. Charles
Grubbs, Mrs. William Sanders, Mrs.
Roy Law, Mrs. Fenton Greenwood,
and Mrs. Paul Smith; two sisters,
Mrs. Emma Kasparek, and Mrs.
Christine Popham; 25 grandchildren,
38 great-grandchildren, many other
relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday,
March 13, at the Tibbetts Bros.
Chapel in Belleville. The Rev.
Ralph D. Mitchel officiating.
Interment was in Tabor Cemetery.
