SERVICE HELD FOR MONTICELLO MAN TUESDAY, JULY 5
MONTICELLO
Funeral service was held at St Matthews church, Tuesday, July 5, for Ricklef Herman Bartels, who died after a long illness Saturday, July 3, at his home in Monticello.
Mr. Bartels was born June 29, 1863,at Leerhafe, Germany. He came to America in 1882 with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harm Bartels, and practiced the carpenter trade at Monticello.
He was married Jan 18, 1890,to Eline Wilhelmine Husman, who preceded him in death in 1938.
He is survived by 10 children as follows: Henry Bartels, and Mrs. Fred Lange, Scotch Grove; Fred Bartels, Manchester, Gerd and Herman Bartels, Mrs. Silas Wright, Mrs. Arnold Marugg, Mrs. Irvil Smith, all of Monticello; William Bartels, Hopkinton, and Mrs. Herman Herren, Wayne, and their families
