SUDDEN DEATH
Confederate Veteran Here to See Fair Found Dead in His Bed

F. A. Bloxton, Confederate veteran, 78 years old, of Stafford Courthouse, Stafford County, VA, was found dead in bed on Tuesday morning, October 9, 1917, at 615 Randolph Street by his brother, Alexander Edwin Bloxton, with whom he had been sleeping. Mr. Bloxton and his brother both came to Richmond from Stafford on Monday night in order to take in the State Fair. On arrival, they engaged a room at a lodging house on Randolph Street. Both retired in their usual health. When A. E. Bloxton awoke, he was horrified to find his brother lying dead beside him. Coroner Whitfield, who was hastily summoned, said that death was probably due to old age, brought about by the exertion caused by sight-seeing. The body was taken to Stafford for burial.

Five months earlier, the DAILY STAR Newspaper, Fredericksburg, Virginia,
Friday, 18 May 1917:
"Old Confeds attending court were: Messrs. John A. Evans, Geo. W. Truslow, ALBERT BLOXTON, Lewis A. Fritter, Geo. W. Black and Jno. F. Clift, representing all branches of the service."

He may have never married, although there is an obituary for Mrs. Albert Bloxton of Stafford County, VA, who predeceased her husband, and he's the only Albert known of:

Compare his picture with that of his "lookalike" older brother, Thomas Lawrence Bloxton. This isn't a very good image, but their hair and beard is even the same!
