Mr. South died at his home Tuesday.

Services for Jay South, 93, were at Mission Covenant church. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.

Born at Dodge Center, Minn., Feb. 17, 1868. Mr. South was married to Hannah Irvine at Prince Albert, Sask., Canada Sept. 27, 1905. During their early married life they farmed in North Dakota and moved to Minnesota in 1924 and to the Bemidji area in 1926.

Surviving are his wife; five sons, Mirl of Los Almos, N.M., Lyle and Harold of Bemidji, Lee of Grand Rapids, and Lynn of Maywood, Neb.; five daughters, Mrs. Hazel Elmers of Pittman, Nev., Mrs. Ed Robinson, (Laurel) of LaPuente, Calif., Mrs. Ernest Slough (Ida) of Bemidji, Mrs. Paul Smith, (Grace) of Maywood, Neb., and Mrs. Robert Whelan (LaVerne) of Hungry Horse, Mont.; a brother, Herbert of Ashland, Ore.; 37 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren;

Three daughters preceded him in death.
