Mrs. Lena J. Phillips, 74, 1203 S. Main St., died in Kalispell, Montana Thursday. She was born June 22, 1899, in Kalispell, a daughter of Robert and Carrie Nordtome. She attended Kalispell schools and married Henley S. Phillips July 5, 1924, at Eugene Oregon. The couple lived in Eugene for several years before moving to Somers, Montana, then Kalispell, Montana. Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Central Bible Church, and a dedicated member and officer of the World War I Barracks Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents, two sons in infancy and one sister, Irene Mildren. She is survived by one son, Charles Henley Phillips, Kalispell: one daughter, Mrs. Clarence Watters (Bunny), Libby, Montana, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; her step-mother Mrs. Inga Nordtome, five brothers, Andy, Clarence, Edward, Melford and Clifford Nordtome all of Kalispell: two sisters, Mrs. Fred (Mida) Schumach, Kalispell, and Mrs. Alma Feurt, Oroville, Calif., and a number of other relatives. Funeral services for Mrs. Phillips will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Johnson Chapel with the Rev. Clarence Loewen, pastor of the Central Bible Church officiating. Interment will be in the Glacier Memorial Gardens.
