Sylvester "Buck" Terry died November 14, 1992, at his home in Salem, OR. He and twin Sylvia were born December 16, 1908 to Alva and Louella (Dinnel) Terry in a sod house on a Chase Co., NE, homestead.

After his marriage to Carrie Fisher November 10, 1928 in Holyoke, CO, and birth of Leah, they lived with his parents, moving before LaVonne's birth. Wayne and Monte were born on a farm near Lyman.

They left Nebraska in 1948 for California, but relatives persuaded them to settle in Salem where Sharon was born. Buck retired from Boise Cascade shortly after Carrie's death in December of 1973. He married Juanita Wilson September 1974.

Survivors include wife, Juanita; daughters and sons-in-law, Leah and Sam Heinrich, Scottsbluff, NE; LaVonne and LeRoy Karsten, Sumner, WA; Sharon and Glenn Folkert, Salem; sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Shirley Terry, San Ramon, CA; Monte and Teryl Terry, Everett, WA; 19 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; stepson and daughter-in-law, Don and Lois Wilson, Hillsboro; and one sister, Gladys Silvrants, Grant, NE.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, four sisters, wife, Carrie, and one grandchild.

Funeral was held November 16, 1992 in Salem with Al Craig, preacher, Market Street Church of Christ, officiating. Burial at Belcrest. Casket bearer grandsons: Chris Terry, Everett, WA; Sam Heinrich, Yuba City, CA; Mike Karsten, Tacoma, WA; Larry Heinrich, Englewood, CO; Shawn, Cary and Brandon Folkert, Salem.
