Leah Fern Terry Heinrich, 86, of Stilwell, KS went to her new home in Heaven on February 6, 2016.

Leah was born August 15, 1929 to Sylvester and Carrie (Fisher) Terry at Elsie, Nebraska. She was five when her family moved to a farm northeast of Scottsbluff. A few years later, Leah moved with her parents to a farm near Lyman, where she attended grade school at Bogview and graduated from Lyman High School.

She married Samuel Richard Heinrich on June 15, 1947. They were blessed with Diana, Charlene, Larry, Douglas, Samuel James and Robin.

They resided and farmed in the Lyman, Morrill and Henry area, except for six months in Salem, Oregon where they ran a Café. They bought a home in Cornett Heights near Scottsbluff in 1960. Not long after, they started a business called Heinrich Feed and Farm Center. In 1971 they moved again to an acreage, and started PCS Products Inc, a Feed Additive and Silage Preservative business.

The couple helped establish Monument Bible Church in 1980, in their gym and home for over 9 years, until the church was able to build a new building. Leah accepted the Lord Jesus as her personal savior in 1952. She was active in Child Evangelism Fellowship, serving as the Scottsbluff director of the organization, teacher of teachers and taught children’s Bible Clubs. She was president of a ladies fellowship, a Sunday school and Bible school teacher, and was active in leading adult Bible studies.

The Lord blessed Sam and Leah with 50 wonderful years together before Sam died in 1997. Leah moved to Yuba City, California in 1999 where she lived for 10 years. She then had the opportunity to do mission work in Arizona with an Indian College. Leah went with youth to Mexico where she cooked while they helped build houses. She also went to Hawaii with Youth With A Mission as a Mission Builder and Uganda, Africa as an Evangelist. She returned to Scottsbluff in 2009 where she resided until March 2015 when she moved to Stilwell, Kansas to live with her son and daughter-in-law. She loved traveling south for the winter with her sister and brother-in-law, LaVonne and Lee Karsten, and to Death Valley for the 49er’s encampment for many years, until complications with ALS kept her home. Leah loved making quilts and Christmas gifts for her wonderful family, but her greatest joy was serving the Lord for over 63 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel; parents, Sylvester and Carrie (Fisher) Terry; brother, Wayne; sister in-law, Tyrol Ann Terry; and nephew Justin Folkert.
