Son, 2nd Lt. George Allison Whiteman, Army Air Corp Pilot was killed while trying to take off from Bellows Field, Territory of Hawaii, during the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Whiteman Air Force Base was named after him in the 1950s. Son, Pfc. Marshall Earl Whiteman, was KIA in Korea in 1953.

Married 2nd Alta Mae Bougher Murie Summers in 1948. After John Casey's death Alta may have married Edmund G. Petroske/Petroshe in 1968 in Jackson Co, Missouri.
