Dorothy A. Manley Lasher, 89, of New Kensington, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006, in Highland Center Genesis Eldercare Network, Brackenridge. Born May 22, 1916, in Tarentum, to the late Dr. Thomas and Pearl Roach Manley, she was a 1933 graduate of Tarentum High School. Mrs. Lasher was a graduate of The Pittsburgh Art Institute, Pittsburgh, and attended Seton Hill College, Greensburg. She rs. Lasher was an active member of First Baptist Church, Upper Burrell, and enjoyed swimming, sewing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include four sons, John (Jane) Lasher II of New York, Dennis (Faye) Lasher of Lower Burrell, Robert (Evelyn) Lasher of Florida, and Timothy (Karen) Lasher of Georgia; a sister, Hope (Stan) Wolfe of Leechburg; 16 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Lasher; a daughter, Sandra Kahn; a brother, Thomas Manley; four sisters, Virginia Wilson, Casey Helter, Sidney Manley and Eieleen Lessig; and a great-granddaughter, Molly Lasher. At the request of the family, there will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the care of ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., family owned and operated for 60 years, 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, (724-335-1234). A memorial service will be held at a later date at First Baptist Church, Upper Burrell.
