Dennis C. Lasher, 72, of Lower Burrell, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, with his family at his side. He was born Jan. 26, 1941, in New Kensington, to the late John T. and Dorothy A. Manley Lasher, and was a life resident of the local area. A steelworker, he was the maintenance foreman at the Number Nine Bar Mill of Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corporation's Brackenridge Works. Dennis was an extremely active member of the First Baptist Church, Upper Burrell, where he was a Sunday school teacher from kindergarten to college, a member of the choir, the Men's Club and Outreach Fellowship. He also taught Bible studies at the Alle-Kiski Senior Citizens Center in New Kensington. His favorite activity was auto restoration and was well-known for his skill in fender and bodywork. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Faye A. Wolfe Lasher; daughters, Deneen Lynne Lasher Sobota and Kris Lynne (David) Kennedy; grandchildren, Alyssa, Austin, Alexa, Caleb, Madison and Luke; brothers, John T. (Jane) Lasher, Robert B. (Linda) Lasher and Timothy T. (Karen) Lasher; brother-in-law, Dr. Raymond Kahn; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Sandra Kahn and Hope Wolfe; and a brother-in-law, Stanley Wolfe. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Road at Alder St., Lower Burrell. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the First Baptist Church, Seventh Street, Upper Burrell, with the Rev. David Hefferan officiating. Everyone please meet at church.
