Mrs. Rhoda Priscilla Reed Allen, the widow of Ulysses Simpson Grant Allen, died at her home in Bramwell, Sunday night at 8 o'clock following a stroke of apoplexy.
Mrs. Allen was born April 19, 1878 at Oakvale. The daughter of Delhia Thomas Reed Allen and the late John D. Reed.
She was a member of the Pentecostal Holinesss Church of Bramwell, W.V.
Besides her mother, she is survived by the following children, Mrs. Terry (Dae) Owens of Bramwell, Mrs. Pose (Rose) Bennett of Bramwell, Mr. Vivian Ray Allen of Newhall, George of Bramwell, Samuel of Bluefield, Howard, Frank, Forrest and Donald Allen all of Bramwell, Mrs. Arthur (Pearl) Goins, Mrs. C.C. (Jane) Hatter, both of Bramwell, Mrs. Forest (Bea) Dunn of Waynesboro, Va.
Besides her husband and father, she was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Edwin and Arthur Simpson Allen.
She is also survived by one brother, John David Reed of Bozoo, Monroe County, W.V., two half-brothers, Lee H. (Teb) Allen and George Harry Allen both of Peterstown, W.V., tow half-half sisters, Mrs. Ora Allen Cowden, Norton, Va., Mrs. Tilda Allen Green of Appalachia, Va.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2:30 p.m., from the Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. L.H. Steele.
Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Pallbearer will be grandsons of Mrs. Allen while flowerbearers will be granddaughters
