Samuel Clarence Allen, 57, of Four Way, Tazewell County, Va. died Monday morning April 27, 1959, en route to St. Luke's Hospital in Bluefield, after a short illness of a heart condition.
He was owner and operator of the Allen Barber Ship at Four Way.
Born July 24, 1901 in Bramwell, he was a son of the late Ulysses and Rhoda Reed Allen. He is survived by his wife Sarah Jane Frank Allen; four sons, Douglas C. Allen of Vanceburg, Ky., Samuel B. and Franklin L. Allen both of Route 4, Bluefield and Peery L. Allen of Donaldson AFB, Greenville, S.C. and five grandchildren.
Also surviving are six brothers, Ray Allen of Bluefield, Va., George Allen of Matoaka, and Tom, Frank, Don and Forrest Allen of Bramwell; and five sisters, Mrs. Lillian Owens and Mrs. Beatrice Dunn of Waynesboro, Va., Mrs. Mae Bennett of Bottom Creek, Mrs. Pearl Goins of Bramwell and Mrs. Ethel Hatter of Duhring.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Brushfork Methodist Church with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Nieces will carry flowers and nephew will be pallbearers.
The body will remain at Wagner Funeral Home until one hour prior to the services.
