Arthur's parents were Obadiah & Rhoda (Souther) Brown. He married Esther Wallace 21 April 1904. They raised 7 children: Auron, Jewell, Eldon, Prentiss, Nylene Morlan, Opal Stauber, & Clifton. As a young man, he owned a country store in the Benson area. Later, he was a partner with his cousin, Roy Cable, of a store in Winigan. Most of his life was spent as a farmer and livestock man northeast of St Catharine, MO. He was a faithful deacon of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for 41 years. He leaves 14 grandchildren and a sister, Media Lane.
