JOHANNA F. BORCHERS

Johanna F. Borchers, 85, of LeMars, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1993, at Plymouth Manor Care Center, LeMars.

Mrs. Borchers was born April 15, 1908, in Plymouth County, the daughter of Fred H. and Johanna (Nannen) Haage. She was a lifelong Plymouth county resident. On July 13, 1930, she married Henry G. Borchers in Preston Township, rural Akron. He died Sept. 7, 1975. She moved from her farm to Plymouth Manor in 1988.

Mrs. Borchers was a lifelong member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, rural Akron, and a member of the Women of the ELCA.

Survivors include a son, Marlin Borchers, and his wife, Elnora, of Akron; a daughter, JoAnn Oltmanns, and her husband, Merlyn, of LeMars; five grandchildren, Mark Borchers of Rio Rancho, N.M., Machelle Borchers of Omaha, Brent Borchers, of Ames, Deb Herzberg and her husband, Mark, of Merrill, and Jill Renken and her husband, Scott, of LeMars; and two great-grandchildren, Brooke and Judd Herzberg of Merrill.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and five sisters.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Preston Township, rural Akron. Rev. Stephany Sanborn will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is after 2 p.m. today (Tuesday) with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home, LeMars.
