Obituary from the Crossville Chronicle, Thursday, March 28, 1940, page 5: "Mrs. G. Bristow is Buried Here. The body of Mrs. Margaret DeRossett Bristow, widow of the late George Bristow, arrived here on the Wednesday afternoon train, from Mountain Home, Ark., and was taken to Grassy Gove for burial by the side of her husband that same day.... Mrs. Bristow, eldist sister of Sampson DeRossett, went to Arkansas about 18 [sic] years ago to make home with her daughter, Mrs. Lemons, who survives, as does a son, Bert, of Rockwood, several grandchildren, another brother, Millard DeRossett who lives in Texas; two sisters, Mrs. James Brown of Rhea Springs, and Mrs. M. Bristow of Rockwood.... Mrs. Bristow died at the home of her daughter in Arkansas at the advanced age of 83 years. Funeral services were held in the Baptist Church, Grassy Cove, at 3:00 P.M., with J. Lon Burnett officiating."
