A close friend of mine got me started with Find A Grave after we both stopped contributing to a certain question and answer website. Taking photos on request has been a very rewarding experience. I had taken photos in several nearby cemeteries, but now I like to concentrate on Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Newark, NJ because it does not freely permit the taking of photos. But I still do those other cemeteries too.

Requestors should call the cemetery and get the exact location of the grave to be photographed. Help us to help you

If you have requests in a cemetery where there are over 1000 requests, you should regularly update them by deleting and then remaking them. I frequently download the list of requests to go out and fill as many as I can' however only the first 1000 in terms of age are downloaded. Any request older than the first 1000 will not appear on the list. Remaking those old ones puts them back on the top of the list and will be on my next list.

Please respect the copyrights of volunteer photographers and don't post their photos to any other memorials on Find A Grave or other websites. Just be polite and ask permission.
