I just can't seem to navigate the new site, so I'll be taking a "leave of absence" from Find-A-Grave indefinitely. If you need to contact me, please do so on my email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
I've so treasured all the contacts I've made over these 15-and-a-half years. I hope you all are well and happy; blessings to you and yours!
If you have the chance, please come and visit some of my listed Detroiters of Distinction who could use a token or two on their page.
Dr. Nicola Gigante - Our family doctor for literally generations. He delivered just about everyone born from the 20s to the 50s on my mom's side. He was a wonderful man and everything a doctor should be. https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=174143810
Dr. Walter D. Pool - So after we moved from the old neighborhood to East English Village, Dr. Pool became our doctor. Who knew he was also a very important physician and did a lot of great stuff, like being the founder of the School of Mortuary Science at Wayne State University and being a pioneer in longevity studies. We could really pick great doctors, and Dr. Pool was fantastic! https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=155029238
Col. Frank J. Heckler - At one time Detroit had more single family homes than any city in America. You know why? This guy! He made it possible for working people to be able to afford their own homes with mortgages and land contracts when nobody else did. https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=11578755
Louis Kamper - One of the premier architects of the 20th Century; you may be surprised at the number and quality of the structures he created. https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=19095851
Jozef Julian Gwizdowski - Another superb 20th Century architect, not as well known, but very creative and accomplished. https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSvcid=25927&GRid=29710601&
Dr H.(Jadwiga) June Kuczynski - Another health care professional who also brought a lot of children into the world, and lived an amazing life! https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSvcid=25927&GRid=24303997&
Mary Catherine Navarre Brevoort - And finally, a great lady of Old Detroit, a descendent of Henry IV who was captured by Indians during the War of 1812 and lived to see this little French settlement on the Great Lakes grow to a prosperous small city of 75,000. https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=20235574
Thank you friends! Blessings to you and yours.
