Bio

When I was researching my own family, I received a great deal of help from complete strangers who were willing to help me without asking anything in return. This is my way of paying that forward. So I find it gratifying to discover my headstone photos as part of someone's family tree. How sad would it be if after all the photos are taken and posted and researched and documented that no one looked at them or cared that they were there. So to those of you who have found my photos and made use of them, thanks for caring and you're most welcome.

I feel that its important to say at least a little something about each of their lives. They lived, they loved, and had families. For those that have nothing there, they're not forgotten, I just haven't gotten there yet. And while I try to cite my sources on each memorial, for Long Island special thanks goes to Carolee Nichols Diamond and David Roberts for their unending patience and wealth of information; Mac Titmus (R.I.P.), the Long Island Surnames website; the transcriptions and family photos of Elbert N. Carter; George Moraitis, Historian for the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Port Jefferson (R.I.P.); Steve Gill from the Patchogue Cemeteries Restoration Committee; and Dan Prunty, Funeral Director, Ruland Funeral Home and President of Cedar Grove Cemetery, for his patience and tireless trips into the basement.

If you find something that needs correcting, or if you have information you'd like added, please use the SAC and I'll be happy to make the changes.

(p.s. Nastiness and rudeness will be ignored completely and any correspondence will be deleted without further thought).
