Arie Verwolf was born in August 1855 in the country village of Ameide on the south bank of the River Lek, one of the arms of the River Rhine, in the extreme southeastern part of the Dutch southwestern province Zuid-Holland, son of the 30 years aged farmer Joris Verwolf and Leentje van Es.
In May 1876 Arie Verwolf was a laborer, still living at his parents' home in Ameide, Princegracht 28.
On 2 December 1880 the 25 years old farmer Arie Verwolf, still living in his birth place Ameide, married in Benschop, province Utrecht, the five years younger Teuntje van den Wijngaard, who was born in Benschop.
Arie Verwolf, laborer and, later on, farmer, lived in the period 1880-1900 with his family in Ameide, Princegracht 42, 153 and 154 and moved then to Achterweg 183. On 7 May 1881 his wife Teuntje van den Wijngaarden arrived from Benschop, province Utrecht and joined him. They had there in Ameide the following ten children:

* Aagje, May 1885:
* Jan I, Feb 1887-Jan 1894;
* Johanna Cornelia, April 1888;
* Joris, December 1890;

In February 1915 Arie was a farmer, selling the milk to people in Ameide and surroundings, and in May 1918 a laborer, residing in Ameide too.
Arie Verwolf resided very probably during his whole life in Ameide. He died there in March 1937 at the age of 81 years. Hie widow Teuntje van Wijngaarden died in Ameide too, in July 1950 at the age of 90 years.
