He is survived by his wife, Mary (VandenBerg) Verwolf and a brother, John Verwolf of Amsterdam, Montana.

Peter went first to Orange City, a Dutch Reformed community in northwest Iowa, and moved then to Douglas County in southeast South Dakota, with the Dutch agrarian settlements New Holland and Harrison, and also Corsica and its seat Armour.
