Merrigje "Meg" was the 3rd child of Joris and Leentje (van Es) Verwolf, the first born in Ameide.
She became an unmarried mother of Bastiaan Peter Verwolf on 4 August 1868.
She married on 2 November 1872 in Ameide to three years older Aart Hendrik Streefkerk, who was born in Ameide on 19 April 1849 to Arie Streefkerk and Aarke Woudenberg.
Six children were born of this marriage: Leentje (27 February 1872), Arie (12 April 1873), Areke (4 June 1874), Joris I (20 July 1875-11 July 1876), Johanna Cornelia (28 May 1877-31 October 1877), Joris II (25 September 1878).
Her husband, Aart Hendrik Streefkerk, died in Ameide on 26 October 1879 at the age of 30. Merrigje, widowed at age 27, was left with the care of five small children.
Merrigje married again on 15 March 1884 in Ameide to the eight years younger Teunis van den Hoven, who was born in Ameide on 8 May 1859 to Teunis van den Hoven and Cornelia de Kruijk.
Two children were born of this marriage: Teuntje (19 April 1884-14 August 1885) and Cornelis Johannes (20 June 1886-12 June 1887).
Her husband, Teunis van den Hoven, died in Ameide on 25 February 1898 at the age of 38.
Merrigje died on 4 August 1916 in Ameide at the age of 64.
