K.F. Compton, A railroad Veteran Dies at age of 66
LOUISA, Ky, Dec. 26 - Kenis F. Compton, 66, of West Russell, Ky., a former resident of Louisa, KY, died suddenly at 3 P.M. yesterday at his home after suffering a heart attack. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Friday at the First Church of God at Russell. Burial will be in the Burke Cemetery at Prichard. Mr. Compton was born November 7, 885 at Louisa, Route 4, a son of the late John and Addie Burke Compton. He had been employed by the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway Co. for 40 years and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Nolda Fannin Compton; four daughters, Mrs. Adelaide Fouts of Ironton, O., Mrs. James Proffitt of Callands, Va., and Misses Ruth and Virginia Compton at home; four sons, Roland Compton of Waco, Tex., Milton Compton of Cincinnatti, Jack Compton of Fort Gay, and Fred Compton of Los Angeles; two half-sisters, Mrs. Leslie Layne and Miss Dixie Compton of Louisa, Route 4; seven half-brothers, Sam and Jay Compton of Louisa, Route 4, D.C. and C.W. Compton of Paintsville, Ky., R.L. Compton of Ashland, Tom Compton of Rush, Ky., and Blaine Compton of Columbus; the step-mother, Mrs. John Compton of Louisa, Route 4, and three grandchildren. The body will be taken to the residence tomorrow afternoon from the Young Funeral Home at Louisa.
