Biddie Opal Pharris Wilson, age 86, of Leitchfield, died Thursday, September 15, 2005 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield. She was born on May 24, 1919 in Rockport, Ind., the daughter of Roy and Mabel Adams Beckort. She was a housewife and was a member of the Leitchfield First General Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Emma Stapleton of Leitchfield; one son, Emmitt Pharris Jr. of Leitchfield; one step-son, Tony Wilson of Rockport; one step-daughter, Sue Nesler of Evansville, Ind.; one sister, Virginia Anderson of Rockport; two brothers, Jim Beckort of Grandview, Ind. and Fred Beckort of Rockport. Also surviving are four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one step-grandchild; two step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Emmitt Pharris Sr. and Harry Ford Wilson; one brother, Roy Beckort Jr.; and two sisters, Alice Adamson and Anna Winkler. Funeral services were held Saturday, September 17, 2005 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Bros. Rudd Kerr and George Langdon officiating. Burial was in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.
