Virginia Mae Anderson, 97, of Rockport, Indiana passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the Heartford House of Owensboro, Kentucky. Virginia was born in Spencer County, Indiana on July 29, 1922 to the late Roy and Anna Mabelle (Adams) Beckort.
Virginia had been a cook at the Rockport and South Spencer High School. She also baked wedding and other cakes for many years and retired from Sears. She enjoyed gardening and shopping.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Anderson; Grandson, Drew Anderson; Great-grandson, Joshua Davis.
Virginia is survived by her children, Shirley Horn and her husband, Gordon of Rockport, IN; Terry Anderson and his wife, Sharon of Rockport, IN; Grandchildren, Tony Davis and his wife, Kathy; Tammi Anderson; Tim Davis and his wife, Roxann; Tina Wilkerson and her husband, Mike; Many great and great-great grandchildren; Siblings, Jim Beckort, Fred Beckort, and Margaret Schraner.
Services are 2 P.M. Tuesday, March 24, 2020 with Pastor Paul Gatewood officiating. Burial is in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Rockport. Visitation is from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M.
