Charles Fredrick "Fred" Beckort, 86, of Rockport, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at his home. Fred was born in Spencer County, Indiana on June 10, 1934 to the late Roy and Anna Mabel (Adams) Beckort.
Fred attended Lincoln Hills Baptist Church and had worked for the Spencer County Highway Department.
In addition to his parents, Fred is preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Jean Beckort, who passed in 2019, and his daughter, Debra June Yifrah.
Fred is survived by his children, Peggy Hardy and her husband, Kerry, of Chrisney, IN., and Marcia Beckort of Rockport, IN.; stepchildren, Susan Lester, Darrell Tharp, Dean Tharp, Patricia Horn, and Pamela Barfelz; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
Services are 10 A.M., Saturday, October 10, 2020 with Pastor David Howe officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M., Friday, October 9, 2020 and from 9 A.M. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
