Emmett Pharris Jr., age 61, of Leitchfield, died Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center. He was born December 18, 1945 in Leitchfield, the son of Emmett Sr. and Biddie Opal Beckort Pharris. He was a member of the First Apostolic Church of Millwood, Ky., a truck driver for Fed X, a member of the Caneyville Sportsmen's Club, a 1964 graduate of Caneyville High School, and a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by one daughter, Dianna Lawson of Louisville, Ky.; one son, Darren Pharris of Caneyville, Ky.; one sister, Emma Stapleton of Leitchfield; and three grandchildren, Drew, Andrea and Nicholas. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville with Bro. George Langdon officiating. Burial was in the Apostolic Church Cemetery.
