The Wellington Leader March 23, 1978

Mrs. J.D, Gibson, a Wellington resident 61 years, died at 4:32 a.m. Sunday, March 19, at Collingsworth General Hospital, where she had been a patient for a week. She was 66 years of age.

Mrs. Gibson was the former Nellie Bernice Wisdom, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D.E. Wisdom, and was born at Pottsboro May 8, 1911. She was married to J,D. Gibson March 25, 1929, in Wellington. He preceded her in death January 21, 1963. Mrs, Gibson was a long-time member of the Church of Christ and was active in much of its work.

Surviving Mrs. Gibson are four daughters, Mrs. Jack (Bernice) Needham, Mrs. Marie Black, and Mrs. Larry (Helen) Gollihugh of Wellington and Mrs. Donald White of Clarendon; one son, John D. Gibson of Lubbock; 5 sisters, Mrs. Vernie Fincher, Mrs. Othella Hutchins, Mrs. Wilda Johnson and Mrs. Ruth Johnson, all of Wellington, and Mrs. Corene Homer of New Mexico; two brothers, Emmett Wisdom and Clyde Wisdom of Amarillo; 19 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. One son, Charles Gibson, preceded her in death January 1, 1967.
