D. L Wisdom, 77, Dies at Home Late Sunday

Dew Emmett Wisdom, a Collingsworth County resident 51 years, died at his home at 1107 Haskell Street about 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24. He was 77 years of age.

A native of Batesville, Ark., he was born Sept. 16, 1890, and came to Texas as a young man. He was married to Miss Ella Plumlee of Pottsboro on May 28, 1910. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Funeral services for Mr. Wisdom were conducted at the Church of Christ Tuesday at 3:30 p.m., with E. J. Fletcher, minister of the church, officiating. Burial was in Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kelso Funeral Home. Pallbearers were grandsons and included Danny Wisdom, Herbert Hutchins, John D. Gibon, Darvin Homer, Willie Johnson and Sammy Hicks.

Mr. Wisdom is survived by six daughters and two sons: Wrs. J. D. Gibson, Mrs. Bill Fincher, Mrs. V. D. Hutchins, Mrs. Frank Johnson and Mrs. Loys Johnson, of Wellington; Mrs. R. A. Homer of Shiprock, N.M.; Clyde Wisdom and Emmett Wisdom of Amarillo. Other survivors are four sisters: Mrs. Alice Covey of New
Deal.
