Mrs. Christina Paygle, 79, a long time resident here, died Tuesday of last week in the Osceola Hospital, after a shot illness.

Services were held Friday July 27, at 1:30 at her home and at 2:00 o'clock in the Congregational Church at Sibley. Rev. Paul Jackson, Peterson, Iowa was the officiating clergymen.

Burial was in the Sibley cemetery. Mrs. Christina Paygle was born in Joe Davis county, Illinois, November 14, 1876, to Mr. and Mrs. John B Gontjes.

She resided in the community for 63 years. Miss Christina Gontjes was united in marriage to Mr. Edward F Paygle, February 22, 1899.

The couple resided on a farm near Sibley until 1917, when they moved to Allendorf, where Mr. Paygle operated the elevator. In 1920 the couple moved to Sibley where they purchased and operated the Royal Theater until the fall of 1928 at which time they retired.

Mrs. Paygle was an active member of Woman's Relief Corps and in Congregational Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in September 1951, her parents, also three brothers and four sisters. She leaves to mourn her passing, one sister, Mrs. John Schroder, Sibley; brother and sister in laws Mr. and Mrs. Fred Miler, Lismore, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Ted Reynolds, S. Dak., a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

The pall-bears were her nephews, Mr. Fred Schuster, Mr. Art Schuster, Mr. Leonard Schroder, Mr. Henry Schroder, Mr. John F. Gontjes and Mr. John B Gontjes.
