Lucille West, age 85, long time Collingsworth County resident, died Sunday, March 31, 1996 in Wellington.

Mrs. West was born October 9, 1910 in Childress County to Levi Lawrence and Nannie Payne. She graduated from Arlie High School and married Willie West in 1939 in Altus, OK. He died in 1969. They moved into Wellington from their farm 7 miles south of town in 1961. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Edalaine Neubauer of Colorado Springs, CO; two sons, Drue Wyrick of Big spring and Danny West of Wellington; a step-son, Oris West of Wellington; a sister, Florence Moore of Amarillo; 16 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Joe Bob Wyrick in 1994 and by two step-sons, Hugh West and Owen West.

Longtime friend of Wellington, 85 year old Lucille West was found about 10 a.m. in her home. According to officials, entry was made through the back door. Justice of the Peace Earl Janes ruled the death of Lucille West a homicide.
