Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. today at the chapel of Collier-Butler Funeral Home for Mrs. Ora Mae Frix, 97, Gadsden, who passed away, Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007. Interment will be in Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home and Cremation Service is in charge.
Mrs. Frix was preceded in death by her husband, Willaim Stephen Frix; parents, Bob and Pearl Lovvorn; son-in-law, Harvey McBurnette; daughter-in-law, Mary Magdalene "Maggie" Frix; grandson, Blaine McBurnette; great granddaughter, Nancy Lovett; sisters, Veo Pope, Lois Hicks and Catherine Kilgore and brother, Rurrell Lovvorn.
She was a lifelong resident of Etowah county and was a member of 12th Street Baptist Church. She was a resident of the Holy Comforter House from 1974 until 2002.
Mrs. Frix is survived by her son, Gordon Frix, Athens; daughter, Glynda McBurnette, Ithaca, N.Y.; granddaughters, Sherry (James) Sanders, Gina (Joe) Lovett, Athens; and Kelly (Christopher) Andronicos, Ithaca; grandson, Martin Tracy McBurnette, Hokes Bluff; great grandsons, Orion and Aidan Andronicos, Ithaca and sister, Dorothy Story, Hokes Bluff.
