William Stephen Frix, 65, 1313 Stroud Avenue, died in a local hospital yesterday at 8:30 a.m. following an extended illness.
Survivors: wife, Mrs. Ora Mae Lovvorn Frix; son, Gordon W. Frix, Athens; daughter, Mrs. Harvey McBurnette, Jr., Gadsden; brothers, Otto and Guy Frix and Hugh McManama, Gadsden; five grandchildren.
Services will be tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Collier-Butler Chapel with Revs. J.T. Owens and Lee Espy officiating. Burial will be in Forrest cemetery.
Mr. Frix was a native and lifelong resident of Etowah county, a member of the Baptist church and Dwight Masonic Lodge 550 F.&A.M. and a 32nd degree Mason. He was employed with Republic Steel Corp 42 years prior to his retirement. Masonic graveside services will be rendered by the Dwight Masonic Lodge 550 F.&A.M.
