Robert Jason Young, 58, died Wednesday at his home in Arlington. He had been in failing health for some months with a heart condition but apparently had recovered and was planning to return to his job as a Tarrant County deputy sheriff.

Young was born in Arkansas and had lived in Arlington 10 years. For several years he owned and operated a frozen food locker plant in Arlington.

Before moving to Tarrant County, Young lived in Weatherford and was a county commissioner at Wellington from 1937 to 1941.

He had been a deputy under Sheriff Wright for several years. Young was a Baptist.

Survivors are his wife; two sons, Robert J. Young, Jr. of Arlington and Orville Young of Midland; two daughters, Mrs. T.L. Austin of Arlington and Mrs. Doyle Beene of Weatherford; mother, Mrs. J.H. Young of Arlington; four brothers, Dewey Young of Dallas, Tye Young of Muleshoe, Henry Young of Artesia, New Mexico and James Young of Irving and six sisters, Mrs. Ruth Thompson of California, Mrs. Mittie Lowry and Mrs. L.C. Sweat of Wellington, Mrs. Roxie Lowry of Meridian and Mrs. Aldah Taylor and Mrs. Doc Vaughan of Arlington.
