Robert Jason "Bob" Young, 74, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2004, at an Arlington hospital.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Moore Funeral Home-Bowen Road Chapel, 4216 S. Bowen Road. Burial: Parkdale Cemetery in Arlington. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Robert Jason "Bob" Young was born May 18, 1929, in Lutie, Collingsworth County, the youngest child of Robert Jason and Marie Young. His family moved to Weatherford in January 1942. At the age of 17, he joined the U.S. Marines. Bob was discharged as a corporal and made his home in Arlington with his family. He worked as a butcher at J&J Food Locker in Arlington, which was run by his father. Bob helped build the Navy Mustang fighter at the North American plant in Grand Prairie, later Chance Vaught and Raytheon E-Systems. He supervised production of the first printed circuits and retired after 27 years of service. Bob and his wife, Audrey, raised their sons in Aldersgate United Methodist Church. He was scoutmaster of the Boy Scouts, supported his sons at all school band appearances and umpired their Little League baseball games. Bob became a Mason and Shriner in 1978.

A loving and devoted husband and father, he and Audrey would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in July.
