Greenville Morning Herald, Sunday, October 12, 1947, Pg 8- Annabelle Titus Dies On Saturday- Miss Annabelle Titus, 33, died early Saturday morning at the home of her parents. Mr. and Mrs. J. [John] Elmer Titus, in the Whiterock community, following an illness of almost one year's duration. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Whiterock Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Webb Hill Cemetery near Wolfe City. Rev. W. O. Majors, Rev. Herbert Lowe, of Fort Worth Seminary, and Rev. G. A. Casey, of this city, will officiate. Pallbearers will be A. G. Stone, Charles Stone, Albert Granberry, Billy Ward Shanks, Elmo Jordan and Malcolm Robinson. Miss Titus was born on January 5, 1914, in this city, the daughter of J. Elmer Titus and Beulah Shanks Titus. She was a woman of splendid character, and friends said that she lived a beautiful Christian life, bearing her suffering with a smile and ever thoughtful of others. She was reared
in the Whiterock community, graduated from Greenville High School in 1931 and received her degree from East Texas State Teachers College. She taught in Hunt county for four years and in Bowie county for one year. She was home demonstration agent in Hudspeth and Cass counties for three years, and at the time of her illness she was technician at the University Hospital in Oklahoma City. She had been a member of the Baptist Church at Whiterock since she was 10 years of age. She had lived with her parents in the Whiterock community since her illness. The body will rest at the home until time for the services today. Survivors include her parents; two brothers, Millard Titus and Elmer Titus, Jr., both of the Whiterockcommunity; two sisters, Mrs. Pauline King of Whiterock and Mrs. Jennie B. Lacy of Commerce.
