Greenville Herald Banner, Monday, September 19, 1983, Pg 2- Titus- Funeral services for Elmer Titus, 76, of Route 1, are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel. He died Sunday morning at a local hospital. Rev. Charles Hart will officiate and burial will be in Webb Hill Cemetery. He was born December 1, 1906 in White Rock to John Elmer and Beulah Shanks Titus. The veteran of World War II in the U.S. Army Medical Corps was a farmer and cattleman. Survivors include a brother, Millard Titus of Greenville and two sisters, Mrs. Pauline King of Irving and Mrs. Jennie B. Lacy of Commerce. He was preceded in death by a sister, Annabelle Titus, in 1947. Pallbearers will be Billy Thomason, Charlie Childress, Joe Williams, Gene Ragsdale, W. V. Green, Bill Lowry, W. B. O'Pry and James Holland.
