Leonhardt L. Behnke, Sr., age 75, of 445 Manitowoc St, Reedsville, died Thursday, August 24, 1995, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 27, 1995, at St. John St. James Lutheran Church, Reedsville. Rev. David Kipfmiller will officiate with burial in the West Side Cemetery, Reedsville.

He was born December 18, 1919, in the town of Rockland, son of the late Rudolph and Anna (Krepline) Behnke. On October 24, 1942, he married Elaine Popp at Reedsville. Mr. Behnke farmed in the town of Rockland until his retirement and then worked for Behnke Barn Spraying.

He was a member of St. John St. James Lutheran Church, Reedsville, and also served on the church council.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine; two daughters and one son-in-law, Mary Ann Behnke, Collins, Beverly and Dave Endries, Valders; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Leonhardt, Jr. and Sue Behnke, Michael Behnke, all of Reedsville; 10 grandchildren, Tom, Todd and Troy Behnke, Jenny, Kristie, and Jeremy Endries, Josh, Matt, Traci, and Zachary Behnke; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Elsie Behnke and Esther and Ralph Behnke, all of Brillion. He was preceded in death by two sisters, four brothers and a son-in-law, Rodney Behnke.

Friends may call at the St. John St. James Lutheran Church 11 a.m. Sunday until the time of services.

The Wieting Funeral Home, Reedsville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
