Esther was born on October 9, 1923 in the town of Rockland, daughter of the late Rudolph and Anna (Krepline) Behnke. On September 18, 1943, she married Ralph Behnke at St. John St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville. He preceded her in death on December 28, 1998. Ralph and Esther farmed in the town of Rockland until 1968 when they moved to Brillion. She enjoyed cooking, canning, quilting, playing cards, and spending time with her family. Esther was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Brillion.
She is survived by her three sons and three daughters-in-law: Orville (Mary Lou), Ronald (Marilyn), and Jerry (Judy) all of Brillion; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ralph, three infant children, one sister and brother-in-law: Elsie (Ernie) Behnke, one brother and two sisters-in-law: Leonhardt (Elaine) Behnke and Ruth (Alvin) Schultz; and other relatives.
Funeral Service will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 10, 2017 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Brillion. Officiating will be Rev. Ross Henzi and Rev. Thomas Fricke. Burial will take place in Brillion Community Cemetery.
