Funeral of Mrs. Lau Held Saturday
The funeral of Mrs. Robert Lau who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Herman
Dahlmann of Rantoul on Friday evening was held Tuesday from the home of her son,
Herman Lau of Rockland where the body was conveyed by Undertaker E.J. Shimon on
Saturday, this being the old homestead where she had always resided until shortly
before her death.
Mrs. Lau whose maiden name was Eleanora Schroeder was born in Rockland and was 69
years of age. Had she lived until November the couple would have celebrated their
fiftieth wedding anniversary.
She is survived by her husband, Robt. Lau, Sr., six sons, Charles, Albert, William,
Robert, Adolph and Herman, and three daughters, Mrs. Herman Dahlmann, Mrs. Alb.
Schmidt, Mrs. Mike Sobiak, twenty-five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The funeral was held from the home at 1:30 p.m. and at Reedsville Lutheran church
at 2:00 p.m., Rev. H. Koch, pastor, officiating at the services.
