Ethel R. Lien, age 83, of Dallas, WI died Friday, June 15, 2012 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Barron. She was born April 3, 1929 to Henry & Pauline (Peterson) Christopherson in the Town of Wilson, Dunn County, WI where she attended Blairmoor School. On March 24, 1948, she was married to Robert Lien at Sand Creek. She worked at the Barron Nursing Home for some time and also did daycare. She was a life long member of New Hope-Pine Creek Lutheran Church and was active in the Ladies Aid. She has also been active in the Ridgeland Ridgerunners Snowmobile Club and the Ridgeriders Saddle Club for many years. Ethel enjoyed gardening, flowers, camping & just being outside. She also loved her dog Bandit and spending time with her family.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Robert on June 22, 2003, grandson: David Lien, great grandson: Justin Lien, brothers: Gordon & Bill Christopherson & sisters: Hazel & Joyce Christopherson, Pearl Pederstuen, Evelyn Clemetson, Muriel DeLap, Hilda Knutson & Mary Lou Puls. She is survived by her sons: Ronald (Lorrie) Lien of Prairie Farm, Alan (Sharon) Lien of Barron & Dale (Anna) Lien of Ridgeland, grandchildren: Lisa Lien, Nicole Mellville, Christine Virkus, Christopher Seever, Terri Lien, June Rudi & Samantha Lien, 12 great grandchildren, sisters: Nina (Elwood) Donaldson of Sand Creek, Betty Malcom of Blue Earth, MN & Vivian Lundequam of Prairie Farm, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Funeral services will be (were) held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20 at New Hope-Pine Creek Lutheran Church in the Town of Wilson, rural Ridgeland with Rev. Barbara Koch officiating and interment in the church cemetery. Visitation will be (was) held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and also for the hour prior to services both at the church. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
