Pearl H. Pederstuen, 90, Ridgeland, Wis., died Thursday, May 14, 2009, at Dallas Care and Rehab.

She was born Nov. 6, 1918, to Henry and Pauline (Peterson) Christopherson in the Town of Wilson, Dunn County. She was raised on the family farm and baptized and confirmed at Hay River Lutheran Church. She attended the Blairmoor School and later went to work in Minnesota.

She married Lionel Ellefson on April 19, 1941, at Sand Creek. They farmed in the Town of Dallas, Barron County, until his death in 1965. Pearl later moved to Ridgeland and worked at the Barron Nursing Home for 17 years.

She married Jalmer Pederstuen on Aug. 22, 1975, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.

Pearl was an active member of New Hope-Pine Creek Lutheran Church, where she took part in the Ladies Aid, Circles and also taught Sunday school. She was always a willing worker in whatever needed to be done. She also was an avid animal lover.

Surviving in addition to her husband Jalmer of Ridgeland are a son, Tom Ellefson of Poskin; granddaughters, Tina (Shawn) Hoag of Fort Meyers, Fla., and Renee (Kenneth) Melton of Mosinee; great-grandchildren, Jake and Julie Hoag; sisters, Vivian Lundequam of Prairie Farm, Nina (Elwood) Donaldson of Sand Creek, Ethel Lien of Dallas, Mary Lou Puls of Barron and Betty Malcom of Blue Earth, Minn.; a brother, Richard (Ruby) Christopherson; a sister-in-law, Norma Christopherson of Ridgeland; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Lionel; sisters, Hazel and Joyce Christopherson, Hilda Knutson, Evelyn Clemetson and Muriel DeLap; and brothers, William and Gordon Christopherson.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 18, from New Hope-Pine Creek Lutheran Church, Town of Wilson, rural Ridgeland, with Rev. Barbara Koch officiating and interment at the church cemetery.

Visitation was held an hour prior to services at the church Monday.

Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas and Cameron, handled arrangements.
