MIFFLINTOWN - George W. Hockenberry, 62, of Mifflintown died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at 7:45 a.m. at Clearfield Hospital.

Born Oct. 9, 1941, in East Waterford, he was a son of Charles and Anna S. Boyd Hockenberry.

Mr. Hockenberry was Protestant by faith and attended Palestine United Methodist Church as a youth. He attended Morris and Graham township schools.

Mr. Hockenberry was a factory worker, employed by Empire Kosher Chicken Processing Plant, Mifflintown.

He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 5863 and American Legion Post No. 298, both in Mifflintown, and the Carpathian Club, Hawk Run.

Surviving are a son, Frank Hockenberry of Hyde; a sister, Irene B. Pyles of Mifflintown; a brother, Thomas L. Hockenberry and his wife, Shirley, of Hawk Run; and his companion, Julia Smith of Hyde.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marion Letcher; and a brother, Jack Hockenberry.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Strange and Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale, with the Rev. Cheryl Houser officiating.

Interment will be at Palestine United Methodist Cemetery, Morrisdale.

Friends will be received Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at Strange and Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Strange and Weaver Funeral Service, P.O. Box 238, Morrisdale, PA 16858.
