Thomas L. Hockenberry, Sr., age 90 of Hawk Run, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 6, 2023 at his residence.
Born July 9, 1933 in East Waterford, PA, he was the son of the late Charles and Anna S. (Boyd) Hockenberry.
Surviving are his children, Tommy L. Hockenberry, Jr, Morrisdale; Jay Hockenberry, South Carolina; Joyce Colton, Ohio; Timothy Hockenberry, Morrisdale; Toby Hockenberry; step-children, Deborah L. English and husband Ray, Hawk Run; Marvin Sleigh and wife Nila, Washington State; Franklin Sleigh and companion JoAnn, Philipsburg; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was the last of his generation.
Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by sisters, Irene B. Pyles, Marion Letcher; brothers, Jack, and George Hockenberry.
Thomas was previously employed by the Philipsburg Borourgh and was a veteran of the US Army. He loved going to auctions, yard sales and gardening.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 from 12-2:00 PM at Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale.
Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Thomas L. Hockenberry, III officiating.
He will be laid to rest in Palestine Cemetery, RR Morrisdale.
